All we do as a church is supported and undergirded with prayer. Roebuck Baptist has always been a very giving church and now we are developing under the leadership of our Lord Jesus into a sending church.
We are sending construction teams into our community to repair homes. We are sending teams to the Appalachian area of Kentucky. We have ventured into International Missions by adopting a four year relationship with our missionaries in Peru. We are sending three teams each year to reach our unreached people group there. We have also been sending college students to Asia and South America. Each summer we are sending our young people on an international or home mission trip helping them to see the world from a different perspective. By becoming a sending church, we are trying to reach the world for Jesus
Roebuck Baptist Church has made a four year commitment with the Southern Baptist International Missions Board to the Ashaninca Indians of Peru.
This unreached people group consists of approximately 150 small villages in the jungles that run along the Rio Tambo River in Peru. They have their own language which makes translation very difficult.
We are in our fourth year and so far around seventy of our members have made one or more trips into the jungle. We have done personal evangelism, medical trips, discipleship training for church leaders, worship training, soccer tournaments and Vacation Bible Schools
Here in the states we have an ongoing partnership with those in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. We are working at the Calvary Campus to fix up an old gym to make available for the children of the community. We take two or three trips a year and we are slowly making progress. We have many very skilled people in our church who have made themselves available for these trip and hopefully we can continue this ministry for years to come.
